The external board of experts appointed by the European Commission for reviewing the work done in INCISIVE during the first 18 months of its operation, and our EC Project Officer in charge of monitoring INCISIVE, experienced positively the progress of our work and acknowledged our project’s achievements, following the review meeting that took place on 16 May 2022. So the INCISIVE consortium is proud to announce that the 18-month review report  confirms that the project has fully achieved its objectives and milestones for the period and all of the project deliverables have been accepted by the EC.

Our work so far contributes significantly to many impacts. Most highlighted in the review report are the achievements related to the creation of the EU-wide cancer data repository, the collection and availability in the project of 95% of the retrospective datasets of the INCISIVE Data Providers, a first operational proof-of-concept for AI federated learning, and the release of INCISIVE’s first protype technical infrastructure with all main components and functionalities available. The report also underlined that the project adopts state-of-the-art methodologies, such as transformer-based models and U-Net-based Neural project in AI development.

For the new project period that just started, we received useful recommendations for our future work by the reviewers that will help us improve our work further in the following months when –based on the review report– “the project is expected to provide results with significant immediate or potential impact”.
